Dates come from WAEC

WASSCE timetable

Where to read the official WASSCE timetable, what WAEC published for 2026, and how to revise around your own papers. GLearn does not set the dates.

WAEC Ghana publishes the WASSCE timetable. School candidates and private candidates are not on one grid. GLearn is exam prep. It does not set a date, hold a centre list, or replace the file on the WAEC site. If a date on this page and the file ever disagree, follow the file.

Where WAEC publishes it

  1. Open the official timetable page at waecgh.org/timetable. Pick the file that names your series: school, private first series, or private second series.
  2. The WASSCE school page says the examination is conducted twice a year, in May and June for school candidates and in September and October for private candidates. The final file for your year is the schedule to follow, because a sitting can start earlier than that sentence.
  3. Read the notes at the end of the file. If the length of time on the question paper is not the length on the timetable, follow the question paper. Some project papers and some oral papers say the Council will arrange the time. Those are not a blank you can fill in yourself.
  4. Your centre is not on the timetable. A school candidate gets it from the school. A private candidate gets it on the admission notice.

What WAEC published for 2026

Three 2026 files are on the timetable page. A 2027 WASSCE timetable was not on that page when this guide was written. Do not reuse a 2026 day for a later year. The clock times and the paper lengths stay in the PDF, because several days print more than one row and the question paper wins if the length differs.

  • Private candidates, first series. The file is headed as the final international timetable and dated 9 July 2025. It runs from Friday 16 January 2026 to Saturday 14 February 2026. Open the 2026 private first series timetable (PDF).
  • School candidates, Ghana only. The final timetable is dated 27 March 2026. It opens with project work on Tuesday 7 April 2026 and the last date in the file is Friday 19 June 2026. Open the 2026 school timetable (PDF).
  • Private candidates, second series, Ghana only. The final timetable is dated August 2026. It runs from Friday 4 September 2026 to Thursday 29 October 2026. Open the 2026 private second series timetable (PDF).

How the papers are ordered

Core subjects for school candidates are English Language, Mathematics (Core), Integrated Science and Social Studies. You also sit the electives you entered. The order is whatever the file for that year says. It is not the same for school and private candidates.

In the 2026 school file, the written core papers fall on these days:

  • Integrated Science on Monday 25 May 2026.
  • Social Studies on Tuesday 2 June 2026.
  • Core Mathematics on Wednesday 3 June 2026.
  • English Language on Wednesday 10 June 2026.

In the 2026 private second series file, those written cores fall on these days:

  • Integrated Science on Saturday 26 September 2026.
  • Core Mathematics on Saturday 3 October 2026.
  • English Language on Saturday 17 October 2026.
  • Social Studies on Saturday 24 October 2026.

Electives, practicals and orals are on other days in the same file. Read the row for your subject, your paper number and your series. Do not borrow the day of a core paper for an elective.

Build a revision plan around the timetable

  1. Before the file for your series is out, practise the four cores and the electives you are entered for. Objective papers and written papers are both on the timetable.
  2. When the file is out, list only your papers, in date order, including practicals and orals. A project whose time the Council arranges still needs a week in the plan.
  3. Give the soonest paper the largest share of this week. Keep a shorter pass over later papers so a gap of several days is not a cold start.
  4. Many subjects put the essay and the objective on the same day. Practise both, with a clock, before that morning.
  5. The day before a paper, review work you have already done. Do not open a topic you have never studied.
  6. If a date is not on waecgh.org, it is not the timetable. Check the file again the morning of a paper, in case WAEC replaced it.

Exam day

  • Be at the centre before the start the official file gives. The school, or the admission notice, tells you where that centre is.
  • If two rows on the same day show different lengths, use the row for your paper, then follow the question paper if its length differs.
  • The 2026 school and private files allow visually impaired and hearing impaired candidates one and a half times the time allotted to other candidates. Tell the centre before the paper. The file for a later year carries its own note.
  • Follow the rules the invigilator reads. Read the timetable before you leave home, so you are not depending on a phone inside the hall.
  • After the papers, the result is a separate step. WAEC releases it. This page does not.

Practise before the dates

The timetable tells you when. Practice is what you can do before that morning. On GLearn, Anna marks the written answer and explains why.

WASSCE timetable questions

Where does WAEC publish the WASSCE timetable?+

On the WAEC Ghana timetable page at waecgh.org/timetable. School candidates and private candidates have separate files. GLearn does not publish the timetable.

When is the WASSCE in Ghana?+

WAEC's WASSCE school page says the exam is held twice a year, in May and June for school candidates and in September and October for private candidates. The final file for a year is the one to follow. For 2026, the school file runs from 7 April to 19 June, and the private second series runs from 4 September to 29 October. A 2027 file was not on the timetable page when this guide was written.

Are school and private candidates on the same dates?+

No. Check the file for your series. In 2026 the private first series, the school sitting and the private second series are three different files on the same official page.

Which day is English Language?+

It depends on the series. In the 2026 school file, English Language is on Wednesday 10 June 2026. In the 2026 private second series file, it is on Saturday 17 October 2026. Electives are on other days. Read your own row in the file for the time.

Does GLearn know my centre?+

No. The centre is on your school's list or on the private candidate admission notice. GLearn is exam prep. It does not register you and it does not hold your timetable.
