Liberia and the WASSCE
Liberia has been a member of WAEC since 1974. The WASSCE is the Council's senior certificate examination, the same exam sat in Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and The Gambia. The national office in Monrovia administers it in Liberia. GLearn is independent of WAEC.
School entry and private entry
A school candidate is a student the school enters. The Monrovia office also runs the WASSCE for private candidates, and it announces when that entry is open. Enter the sitting that matches you.
Read the current announcement on the national office site. Do not treat a date in an old notice as this year's timetable. GLearn does not register you, does not sell a PIN, and does not take a WAEC fee.
The national office site is waecliberia.org.lr.
Results
GLearn does not check or release results. When the Monrovia office says results are out, use the official channel that announcement names. Have your index number and the access code that channel asks for. A result on a checker is not the certificate.
Grades
WAEC grades each WASSCE paper from A1 to F9. A1 is Excellent and covers 75 to 100. C6, from 50 to 54, is a credit. D7 and E8 are passes. F9, below 40, is a fail. The letters are the same in every WAEC country.
A university in Liberia decides which grades it accepts. GLearn does not set that rule. The grade calculator turns a percentage into A1 to F9 and can add a Ghana aggregate, where A1 counts as 1. That aggregate is a Ghana way of adding the same letters. It is not a Liberian admission score. Open the WASSCE grade calculator.
Revision with the coaches
Kevin and Anna help you revise before the paper, not after a result is published. You practise WASSCE questions on GLearn. A written answer is marked against the mark scheme, and the coach writes what earned the marks and what was missing. Anna is the coach on WASSCE practice. Kevin is the other coach, and you can revise with either of them. The first questions need no account. Try WASSCE practice free.
WASSCE subjects on GLearn
These are the WASSCE subjects you can open on GLearn. The national office decides which subjects you enter, and the names on your entry form are the ones that count. Core Mathematics and Integrated Science use the names on the Ghana papers. The questions are WASSCE questions, and a written answer is marked against the mark scheme.
