The same WAEC exam
The WASSCE is the West African Senior School Certificate Examination. WAEC sets it and marks it. Candidates in Nigeria sit the same examination as candidates in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and The Gambia. The national office handles entry, the sitting, and the result. GLearn is not WAEC, and it is not that office. GLearn is exam prep.
School candidates and private candidates
WAEC Nigeria registers both. A school candidate is a student the school enters. The school completes the entry. A private candidate enters as an individual on the registration site the Council provides.
The Council advertises when entry is open. The school sitting and the private sitting are separate, so follow the notice for the sitting you are actually entering. GLearn does not publish the timetable, does not sell a registration PIN, and does not take a WAEC fee.

How to check a result
GLearn does not check, hold, or release WASSCE results. When WAEC Nigeria says results are out, use the official checker.
- Open the checker at waecdirect.org.
- Enter your examination number, the year you sat, and the type of exam that matches your sitting.
- Enter the PIN the page asks for. Do not send that PIN to anyone else.
- Read the grade beside each subject. A result on the checker is not the certificate. WAEC issues the certificate.
What the grades mean
WAEC grades each WASSCE paper from A1 to F9. A1 is Excellent and covers 75 to 100. C6, from 50 to 54, is a credit. D7 and E8 are passes. F9, below 40, is a fail. The letters are the same in every WAEC country.
A university or an employer in Nigeria decides which of those grades it accepts. GLearn does not set that rule and does not publish a cut off. The grade calculator turns a percentage into these letters, and it can add a Ghana aggregate, where A1 counts as 1. That total is a Ghana reading of the same letters. It is not a Nigerian admission score. Open the WASSCE grade calculator.
Revision with Kevin and Anna
Kevin and Anna are the AI coaches on GLearn. Anna is the coach on WASSCE practice, and you can revise with Kevin as well. You answer a question, then read why it scored what it scored. A written answer is marked against the mark scheme: the marks you earned, and what was missing. The first questions need no account. Try WASSCE practice free.
WASSCE subjects on GLearn
These are the WASSCE subjects you can open on GLearn. The national office decides which subjects you enter, and the names on your entry form are the ones that count. Core Mathematics and Integrated Science use the names on the Ghana papers. The questions are WASSCE questions, and a written answer is marked against the mark scheme.
